It was constructed by Gen. Franklin C. Sibert as part of the first military R&R facility. Of the three buildings it was the mess hall and entertainment center. A greenhouse and workshop were added to the cottage in 1995. This beautiful property has been planted with about 40+ Camellia bushes of various varieties and a sea of color surrounds the house and property with mature azaleas. The cottage front area has just been planted with tricolor Asiatic Jasmine which will provide a carpet of color needing mowing but once a year. The expansive bayside deck complex easily accommodates entertaining 50-70 people without a crush. Indoor entertaining also provides a warm atmosphere illuminated by three 8ft sliding glass doors which bring the outdoors indoors.
