    What's special

Sold The only reason we are selling, is that our children and grandchildren have settled on the west coast. Large four-bedroom house in great neighborhood with great schools. Corner lot features a mature long leaf pine forest that has shaded our home from the sun and protected it from the wind for the last thirty years! Very private yard with lots of azalea bushes. Features two family areas with vaulted ceilings, wainscoting in living room, crown molding, built-in bar in dining room, gas fireplace with stone hearth, track lighting. Kitchen features stainless steel appliances, real exhaust fan over stove. new countertops, ceramic tile backsplash and recessed lighting. Bedrooms feature built-in shelving, ceiling fans. There is a full bathroom off the hall and another full bathroom off the master bedroom. Heated and cooled room next to garage for storage and clean work space (great for bike work!) with utility sink and secondary washer/dryer hookups if back room laundry is being rented out. Landscaped lawn includes small greenhouse, rain barrels, wood walkway, small pond and built-in bench on the deck. The large, well lit, double garage has built in work bench and storage shelves. Electric garage door opener. There is extra space on cement driveway for third car parking. “Mother in-law” addition (900 square feet) was built in 1997 and has a bathroom with shower, laundry, two carpeted bedrooms and great room. Great room has been finished with concrete flooring. Kitchen area with sink (no built-in appliances) has plenty of cabinets forming a divider from rest of room. Can be configured as part of home as we did when our children were young. Ample cabinets are great for craft project supplies, and large countertops were perfect for working on school projects, and entertaining. Later on, when the kid’s grew up it was easy to lock the passage door, put a refrigerator in hallway, and rent out a spacious two bedroom unit when the children leave the nest! Gives you freedom to downsize your expenses without moving. In addition, over the last 8 years, we have had some wonderful renters that have enriched our lives! The Beach!!! Wrightsville Beach is 5 miles away by car. Using the cross town bike trail that starts nearby in Wade Park, it’s a scenic and safe 15 mile ride to Wrightsville Beach. Carolina Beach is a 10 mile drive. The Trails End boat launch is a 2 mile drive. Launch a kayak, small motorboat, or surfboard to cross the intercoastal waterway to Masonboro Island. It’s an 8 mile uninhabited island between Wrightsville and Carolina Beach. Public Schools: Holly Tree Elementary, Roland-Grise Middle School, John T. Hoggard High School. Our kids were schooled in New Hanover County. They both graduated from Georgetown and were accepted at Duke and Chapel Hill. We had no complaints about their education. If you are working with a buyer’s agent or realtor we will pay them a 3% commission. If not, with the help of your banks appraiser, and home inspectors we are comfortable having our lawyers handle the sale directly. Almost forgot. There are blueberry bushes in the back yard!
