Once in a while a house comes around and you don't know where to begin describing it because it's cool in so many ways. That's this house. We all know what happened to the South Shore of Long Island when Sandy hit but many don't know what has happened since. It's time to come look. Carrel Blvd. has been brought back to life beautifully because people wanted to stay in this fantastic town. En route to the beach off of Long Beach Road, which is home to Trader Joes, supermarkets, chain stores, restaurants, nightlife and sunsets stands a thriving rebuilt community and one particular house that knocked me out! You drive up and see the most perfect shade of gray wood shingles, a round driveway that leads to a charming and obviously custom, expensive front door. The foyer is large and when you walk in you immediately see lots of natural light and it draws you in. I walked through a sun soaked den, which led to a wall of sliding glass doors. I saw water and a new 60 foot dock. Very "WOW!" I ran out back and found a brick patio, nice size lawn and a huge tree that has clearly been there for years. I was wondering why there wasn't a swing hanging from the tree because it's so tall and strong. I went out and stood on the dock and couldn't get over how relaxing and beautiful it was. You can feed the ducks. Then I forgot where I was-blocks off of busy Long Beach Road. Literally the best of everything. When I go visit friends in Brooklyn who have boats-they never want to move to Long Island but this house is perfect for people who love their boats. It's a great example of why Nassau County is so coveted. Back inside. The kitchen has tons of storage, lots of stainless still and is quite large. It's eat in and in the same space not too far off is a dining room with a bay window. The kitchen had a cool pass through to the den and some Miami flavor via art deco glass cubes. Across from the kitchen there is a full bedroom with a private bath- perfect for stashing company, care givers or anyone who needs some extra privacy. The bannister upstairs is very chic- very Los Angeles. You walk up a few steps into the most stunning room I have seen in forever. It is Aspen ski house amazing. High ceilings, a suspended wood burning fireplace, a couch big enough for 14 people to sit comfortably, hardwood floors, massive wall space for art and a view of the water outside so gorgeous you will be hosting every party because this room is made for that. This room alone, sells this house. It is all that and then some. You head up a few more steps to the main floor and find 4 bedrooms- they are all big. All hardwood. The master is sexy with another great view- huge master bath with a Jacuzzi tub, separate shower and dressing area- closets for days. There is a brand spanking new double sink bathroom as well. Mosaic tile floor perfection. There is a closet in the hallway that is larger than most storage facilities and it has the coolest detail ever- a laundry shoot. Pop your stuff in there and it will end up in the basement which is fully renovated. As you make your way through the upstairs you need to be aware the family is in transition and it's obvious. Things are marked and labeled to go to various residences- there are memories everywhere for them and exciting things happening. This house has been in their family for a few generations-they have taken excellent care of it and that's obvious too. This is the kind of house you can start in and stay in. Each bedroom is big and all the closets are shop till you drop. Between the views, the bedrooms, the dock, the water and that one great room alone- this house is a steal & a very well kept secret. Drive over and see it. If you'd like to boat over please call ahead and arrangements will be made. Taxes w/Star $11,917... Magnificent Waterfront Home!Secluded Backyard W/Commercial Grade P.V.C.
