Two-story 1888 carriage house one block from Stanton Park, both floors above ground, with its own entrance, a skylight over both levels, in-unit washer and dryer, gigabit internet, and a garden. If you've been touring English basements, you can stop. And this is the actual Hill, not the three-bus-rides-from-the-dome version: a two-minute walk to a view of the dome, ten to the Capitol gates, and Union Station, the Library of Congress, and Eastern Market all within about fifteen. The house went up in 1888 as the carriage house for our townhouse and sits behind it on a quiet, tree-lined block. The living space is open across both levels under the skylight, so both floors get real daylight. Heating and cooling were recently serviced. The garden between the two houses is shared with us: flowers, a vegetable bed, and a birdbath the whole block knows. It's the place for coffee in the morning and a drink at sunset. We're the owners, husband and wife, and we live in the townhouse in front. We answer messages, we fix things, and we'll tell you as much of the house's history as you want to hear. We're proud of it.
