Farwell Estates is a 26 unit condo association at the southwest corner of Lakewood and Farwell Avenue. It is situated in a unique section of East Rogers Park directly between the Sheridan Rd. and Morse Ave. commercial districts, and Loyola Park on Lake Michigan. 6828 #2 was purchased in 2005 while the building was having new plumbing installed throughout. Floors and bathtubs were refinished, trim was replaced throughout, molding installed, a custom kitchen floor was installed, Pergo laminate floor was replaced with wood floors in the front and back sunrooms (and a drop ceiling was replaced with drywall in the back sunroom), bedroom 3 was enlarged, new solid wood doors were added throughout and the old woods door to the porch was replaced with a steel door, and recessed lighting was added to the living room. In 2010 new, larger porches were added, and front halls received a modest remodeling. In 2011 new appliances were added, walls were professionally restored and painted, living room floor to ceiling shelves, cabinets, and gas fireplace were added, electrical wiring was replaced and redistributed, and the window units were replaced.
