Do you like the outdoors, stay at this cabin and snuggle down in front of the open stone fireplace or grab your boots to take a hike, hit some four wheel drive roads, walk to the lake or take a bike ride, you choose. Is there snow on the ground? Grab your sled, snowshoes or skis, you can play in the snow at the house or go hit the slopes! Take your pick because there are quite a few great ski resorts only a short distance away. The space This is a cozy 900 sqft home. The space (and STR permit) does not allow for more than 8 guests. We monitor occupancy, if more than 8 guests arrive we will cancel your stay immediately. The bathroom has a shower stall, no bathtub. The bathroom has a blow dryer for your convenience. (One less thing to pack) We have Ring cameras on the exterior of the home. The wi-fi is amazingly fast & there is a small desk area in the main living room. Perfect for remote work. There is space for 2 vehicles to park and totally off the road, in front of the house. There is no parking on the streets. Parking will remain cleared of snow for the winter season. All roads leading up to the house are maintained and cleared by the county. There are times during the winter season (snow/ice) where all wheel drive and snow tires or chains will be required to drive on the roads in the area (always be prepared). Other Notes: Lake Tahoe is beautiful. However there can be winter storms, high winds, and snow. Smoke from wild fires is possible too. We are not responsible for road closures and associated travel delays, please plan ahead for these events. Travel trip insurance can help mitigate these risks and we suggest it for guests. We also have bears, coyotes, bugs, and spiders in our area. Do NOT leave any food in your car- bears here are capable of opening car door and you don't want that. The house is less than a 15 minutes from Northstar, and you can ride the free local TART bus that picks up near the house for free! Keep in mind- in the Sierras it snows here, sometimes a LOT! In those events, there will be times where roads get closed, and plows are not able to clear the roads, sidewalks, and driveways as fast as one would hope. Please be patient and understand that these are difficult jobs that take time. We will do our best to accommodate you, but we are not responsible for winter weather and travel delays. We have a snow plow services that helps maintain our driveway and path, but not unless there is more that 4" of snow. Don't forget to try out the sledding at the Tahoe Vista Regional Park, our kids love it in the winter time. Renters pay all utilities.
