Wolf Laurel Resort is a high end, exclusive, 24/7 guarded community in the high mountains of North Carolina, just off I-26, about hour's drive away between Asheville, NC and/or Johnson City, TN. Elevations begin at 3700' and rise to 4300'. Lot 111 on Flame Azalea Lane is approximately 1.1 acres, deeply wooded and home to many large trees, spring ramps, ferns and deer! This well-established community is still sparsely developed, situated in the high mountain counties of Yancey and Madison, NC. Enjoy abundant wildlife: hummingbirds, bears, deer and turkey are common. Native trees and plants include ferns, rhododendron, laurels, poplar, maple and more. Have fun identifying native wildflowers jewel weed, bee balm, and raspberries. Amenities are exceptional! You will have access to a world class golf club with pro shop and restaurant and bar. (I give it 5 stars!) Tennis, swimming pool and ski resort are located on site. Hop on the nature trail connector to hike the AT! The beautiful community center building is adjacent to a stunning outdoor, covered fireplace pavilion. Condos, villas and single family homes are available for purchase or vacation rentals and there is a growing number of year-round families. The Buck House Inn is literally situated inside the back entrance to Wolf Laurel Resort. http://www.northcarolina-mountain-vacation.com/ Be SURE to read the impressive history of the Buck House Inn under the The Inn tab! Never forget, LIFE IS COOLER above 4000'. Always keep an eye on the weather and beautiful Bald Mountain via Rays Weather Center and Wolf Laurel Clubhouse Webcam: http://wolflaurelweather.com/ Annual expenses on these lots are MINIMAL, and Yancey County property taxes are extremely low; most lots are assessed at less than $100 PER YEAR. Wolf Laurel has two separate annual fees. One is a road and gate maintenance fee running about $685 per year. That covers 60 miles of year-round road maintenance, including tree fall and snow removal. There is also a 24-hour per day staffed, electric security gate. The other fee is $175 per year, assessed by the Wolf Laurel Community Center. Please get in touch if you would like to take a look in person. I don't think you will find prettier home sites in a more luxurious location in Western North Carolina than these lots in Wolf Laurel. I have multiple lots ranging in size from .62 acres to 1.1 acres.
