Looking for a cheap apartment in 98036? Act quickly; affordable apartments in 98036 exist but don’t stay on the market for long.
When shopping for a cheap apartment, it’s important to establish your list of must-have features before beginning. Stay flexible during the rental shopping process as you may have to sacrifice certain amenities to meet your budget. You could find an apartment that fits your budget, but it might lack square footage. Or you might find an apartment in the perfect neighborhood, but may have to buy all of your appliances. Stay open-minded. Reflect on the features that matter most to compromise on an apartment without overspending.
Hunting for a cheap apartment off-season may increase your chances to land a lease. Try to look for a new apartment in the winter months: December, January or February. You can find better deals on your unit in winter because supply is typically greater than demand and landlords advertise reduced rate apartment contracts to attract renters. As a renter in the off-season, you may be able to negotiate with your landlord and cut a deal. Landlords might offer to waive your monthly parking, provide a storage unit at no cost or include all your utilities in the monthly rent.
Cheap apartments tend to be more competitive because no one wants to spend more than they have to on rent. Do your homework, prepare all the paperwork before going to the showings and be sure to make a professional first impression.
