When the owner arrived in the late 1980s, the land at the end of Feltzen South Peninsula had just been subdivided, yet was otherwise still wild and untouched. Having first choice to pick his lot, he walked up and down the hill, then up and down the shore for several days. Out of over 20 available options he chose this protected cove to build his getaway, as it is calm, and has a beautiful, tidal shoreline, which is easily accessible and walkable. He carved out the best space for his house, and some more for a bunkie and a boathouse. The rest of the land has been kept natural but groomed, so that lawn mowing is kept to a bare minimum, and the local wildlife can enjoy themselves, too. The main building with the original kitchen and one bedroom was constructed in the early Nineties, and in 2005 the tower with a larger kitchen and a second bedroom was added.
