Wood-burning fireplaceColonial features externallyLarge family roomAmple storage spaceWell-lit open staircaseLaundry room with clotheslineNewly remodeled kitchen

Here are some of the many reasons why you'll love this home: GREAT LOCATION on north side of Old Town Alexandria in a small, private community; AMENITIES include newly remodeled kitchen, large family room, several potential office spaces, modern bathrooms (one with steam bath), skylights, central heat/AC with humidifier, and ample storage space; TWO OFF-STREET PARKING SPACES on landscaped cul-de-sac; BACK PATIO that opens onto QUIET CITY PARK & PLAYGROUND; EASY ACCESS to DC, Pentagon and elsewhere via bike, auto, express bus, and Metrorail; REDUCED SECURITY DEPOSIT for active-duty military families; and MANAGED DIRECTLY BY OWNER, a career military veteran who lives nearby. Newly available May 15, 2026, this well-built, totally renovated townhouse is an oasis of tranquility with easy access to the surrounding area. It's located in a quiet neighborhood of only 38 homes with reserved off-street parking on the private cul-de-sac that has no through traffic. The small city park in back of the house completes the feeling of sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of the Washington area. There is space for Frisbee, soccer or a baseball game. And the far end of the park is devoted to a fenced children's playground with swings, slide and elevated playhouse. As one of our renters commented, the park is a true neighborhood gem. The home itself has colonial features externally and modern amenities inside including central heating and AC with humidifier (for winter comfort) plus many upgrades we've made from 2011 to 2022. The remodeled kitchen has all-new cabinets, a Jenn-Air double oven, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator with filtered cold water and ice-maker. On one end of the kitchen is a spacious dining area with chandelier, attractive ceramic tile, two sunny windows with inside shutters, and a ceiling fan with adjustable light. The other side of the kitchen opens into a desk, seating or small dining area of the L-shaped living room with hardwood flooring. In the corner is a safe wood-burning fireplace, leaving ample space for a couch, chairs, tables and television cabinet. There's lots of natural light from a window and a French door to the patio. Upstairs are three bedrooms: The spacious master bedroom includes two west-facing windows with inside shutter, a wide closet, ceiling fan, and inside access to the master bathroom with Solatube skylight, cabinet, sink, and custom-tiled, glass-enclosed shower with body sprays, steam bath, and teak seat. The upstairs hallway bath has a large cabinet with sink and storage, bathtub and shower. Two other bedrooms face east, looking out to the rear patio and trees of the park. The larger of the two bedrooms will accommodate a queen-size bed plus furniture while the smaller one is better suited for a double, twin, baby bed, or futon -- or office furnishings. Each bedroom has a closet newly equipped with Container Store "Elfa" organizer systems that can be adjusted to needs (i.e. drawers, shelving, and more or less hanging space). A well-lit, open staircase leads from the living room on the main floor to the finished area of the basement starting with a large, well-lit carpeted room with bookcases and large walk-in storage closet. This can serve as the perfect entertainment room, children's play room, office space, or extra bedroom for guests. In the adjacent partly finished area of the basement are a laundry room with clothesline and a separate storage/utility area both lockable for child safety. The outside patio comes with ample space for a BBQ grill, outdoor furniture and gardening planters. A lockable fence door opens to the neighborhood park. The home's location on the north side of Old Town Alexandria really is ideal: Only 3 blocks east is the George Washington Memorial Parkway and U.S. Route 1 is 5 blocks to the west. One to 3 blocks away are direct bus stops for the Braddock Road Metrorail station, Pentagon, Crystal City and downtown Washington, DC. On foot or bike, it's only 7 blocks to the Braddock Road Metrorail station with frequent trains going to National Airport, the Pentagon and Washington. There are bike rental stands near the home and at the Metro. Also only a few blocks away are restaurants, grocery stores, shops, dry cleaners, the Potomac River and a beautiful river-front park, and the 18-mile long Mt. Vernon bike and running trail. The downtown heart of Old Town Alexandria is 10 blocks away. The monthly rent of $4,500 includes water, sewer, trash removal, twice annual gutter cleaning and HVAC system checkups, and insured major appliances as well as community landscaping and two off-street parking spaces. Tenants are responsible for electric, TV and Internet services. We require a one-year lease as a minimum and prefer a longer term of three to four years (with military PCS clause if that pertains). Pets are considered case-by-case and a refundable pet deposit in addition to security deposit. This great home includes one off street designated parking directly in front of the home, plus a second parking place nearby. For more information or tour, please contact us through Zillow. Renter is responsible for payment of all utilities except for water and sewage services. Owner pays for HOA, gutter cleaning, filters, water, sewer, and trash services which are included in the rent. Tenants are responsible for electricity, internet, use of wood-burning fireplace in living room, and parking vehicles in assigned locations (including one in front of door). A deposit fee of one month's rent is required. Cats and dogs may be allowed, subject to additional deposit fee.
