This is a twin, believed to have been built sometime around 1900, and has been included in Easttown Township's registry of historic houses.
The house is located fairly close to an intersection that has a steady flow of traffic. When it was built, transportation was mostly horse and buggy.
Today, the property is protected on two sides by a substantial white wall, and features a circular driveway, shade trees, and natural landscaping. The house has both a porch and a deck, with outdoor furniture.
The first floor features 9' 6" ceilings throughout, a lovely kitchen, a family room, a living room, a powder room, and two fireplaces. There are hardwood floors in all but one room. There's a 1916 Steinway parlor grand piano currently in the living room, in good condition but probably not suitable for pianists playing at a professional level. There's also a gas-fired reserve fireplace in a sunroom off the kitchen, able to heat the entire house if needed.
The second floor has two bedrooms; the primary has an anteroom with generous closet space, and its own fireplace. There are two full bathrooms on this floor; both have jetted Jacuzzi tubs. The third floor offers two more large bedrooms, with closets and a third small bedroom for your butler. The hallway has built-in storage cabinets, drawers, and another small closet.
The basement is partially finished; the water heater and gas furnace are partitioned off, the floor is partly tiled, and there's additional storage space.
Note: The owner currently lives in a small converted barn on the property, and hopes to continue living there. Owner assumes responsibility for maintaining the lawn and property and most maintenance issues inside the house and out.
There is currently no backup generator. Because the house is old, there are several places where the ductwork was wrapped in asbestos. As long as it's not disturbed, it's considered safe to leave in place. The roof was replaced in 2019. Please send inquiries via email. Owner rarely answers the phone.
Owner pays township, county, and school taxes. Renter pays natural gas (heating, stove, etc.), electric, water, and trash.
