    What's special

Cozy loftStunning stone fireplaceSurrounded by towering pinesFull plumbing
Tucked away in the San Bernardino National Forest, this charming 1-bedroom, 1-bath US Forest Service cabin offers the perfect mountain getaway—with a cozy loft, full plumbing, heat, and a stunning stone fireplace at the heart of it all. Part of the exclusive Recreation Residence Program, this rare cabin sits on leased Forest Service land and feels worlds away from city life. Inside, you'll find a spacious bedroom that comfortably fits a king-size bed, a warm and rustic living space, and a bonus loft—ideal for extra guests, reading, or just relaxing in the treetops. The cabin is surrounded by towering pines and the soothing sounds of a nearby creek and seasonal waterfall that can be heard year-round. Located just steps from the Vivian Creek Trailhead, you’ll have direct access to some of the best hiking in Southern California—including the trail to San Gorgonio Peak. Whether you're sipping coffee by the fire in winter or hiking through the pines in summer, this cabin is a peaceful escape in every season.
What the owner loves about this home
What we love most about this cabin is how quiet and deeply peaceful it feels. It’s nestled in the forest, away from everything, but still has all the comforts of home—running water, heat, a full bath, and that beautiful stone fireplace that becomes the heart of the space in winter. We especially love the loft—it feels like a secret little hideaway perched in the trees. Whether it's used for guests, reading, or just gazing out at the forest, it adds a special kind of magic. One of the most calming things is being able to hear the creek and waterfall nearby all year long—especially in the early mornings or after a hike. And having the Vivian Creek Trail just steps away has been a gift. We’ve spent so many mornings heading up the trail with coffee in hand, and evenings sitting outside in total stillness, watching the light fade through the trees. This home has been a place of rest, reconnection, and renewal—and we hope it will be that for the next owners too.
