Your own 4 walls in a tiny cottage! Fully furnished with a new DreamCloud hybrid mattress, crisp cotton percale sheets, several blanket and comforter options, new cotton towels, USB-A/C outlets, and kitchen supplies.
Located on a residential cul-de-sac and only a 5-10 minute walk to two grocery stores, Cajun/Banh Mi/Sushi/Korean BBQ restaurants, Black Rock Coffee, LA Fitness gym (with a pool and hot tub), CORE food cart pod with every type of cuisine you can imagine, Cinemark Cinema 16, Lents Park with dog park/ball fields/ball courts, and MAX light rail.
This tiny cottage is architect-designed, fully insulated and ventilated with a double rainscreen enclosure. It uses silent radiant cove heating--heating objects rather than air--which feels like sitting in the warmth of the sun. A giant red Maple tree keeps the cottage shaded and relatively cool all day, but there's also an overhead variable speed fan. Portable AC available on request.
It has a 10' x 12' footprint plus a 6' x 7' storage loft. The bed is 39" wide by 75" long. The doorway to the bathroom is just over 72" tall. If you are taller than that, this cottage may feel small to you.
Kitchenette includes undercounter fridge/freezer, microwave, induction cooktop, sink, and dishes/utensils/cookware. Bathroom includes a 32"x32" shower, flush toilet, and a handwashing sink. Water is heated with a 20 gallon tank beneath the kitchen sink. The showerhead uses 1.5 gallons per minute.
The counter-height dining table folds down, providing space for yoga and stretching.
Abundant storage:
- 6' x 7' overhead loft
- under-bed drawers
- dresser
- pull-out shoe storage
- clothes-hanging rods (below loft)
- bathroom shelves
There is a big 8 year-old dog that lives in the main house and spends a lot of time in the yard on warm days. He's quite social and will probably want to say hi to you when go outside. He's got good boundaries in general, and also, you'll like it here more if you like dogs. :)
This is a non-smoking property. You also won't smell any smoke from me, and absolutely no smoking of any kind is allowed anywhere on the premises, including in the yards or on the porch.
I (Dani, she/her), the owner, live in the main house with Bodie, the dog. I am quiet, non-smoking, and GenX. Friendly exchanges in passing are great, though I generally provide privacy if that's what folks prefer.
The stacked washer/dryer is in the garage, which is accessed from a door off the back patio. Simply walk across the covered patio to get to it. You are free to use available laundry detergent.
The rent pricing method is designed to incentivize longer stays and offset vacancy for shorter stays. But if you want to only stay 5 weeks, that's fine too. No security deposit required.
