This is truly the best of both worlds! This home was tototally redone top to bottom. New everything that needed to be, but as much of the original charm kept. Gorgeous, unusual style woodwork throughout. Most floorings are the original hardwoods , 8 ft ceilings, beautiful, 2 original brick fireplaces that have been converted to gas. To one of these fireplaces was added a live edge mantel. This fantastic, stepped brick fireplace was found closed up in the walls during construction. It still has it's cast iron baking/bread oven. There are floor to ceiling windows in one of the two living rooms and the original door leading to a spacious front porch complete with porch swing. Original French doors throughout the first floor, and a second large living room, which could be used as a family gathering space, a spacious office, library or music room ( there is an, original to the house's last owners, grand piano in it.) The bathrooms are fitted with lovely antique buffets that were original to the house . They both have very beautiful and unusual sinks in them. Every effort was made to totally refurbish the home with 2026 standards, but paying homage to it's stunning 1840's beauty and history. One more touch I have to mention, the front door hallway is tiled all the way back to the great room/kitchen with black and white penny tiles with the address of this home, "35 So.
