Wow. I'm not even sure where to start. We just built a home around the corner (we LOVE Richmond, and our neighborhood) and we are selling the home we have lived in for over 20 years. I know everything about his house because I basically built it. It started life in 1976 as a manufactured home. It was totally trashed by the owners and in 2002 they sold it. We bought it. It was absolutely disgusting and in terrible shape. BUT we bought it at a price that made sense for us to fix it up and we started out as first-time home buyers with a SERIOUS fixer upper. (There were NO interior doors.) We gutted almost everything and basically rebuilt the entire house. New windows, new roof, moved walls, added the garge and an attached shed. It was a major project. We kept the front door and most of the bones, but that was about it. We added insulation on the outside and redid the siding. We basically spent the next couple of years fixing the house.
