Sanford's Most Recognizable House Has a Few Surprises Inside If you've driven through Sanford more than once, you already know this house. It's the mint green one. The kind of mint green that doesn't apologize for itself, that you can spot from two streets over, that has probably been a landmark in someone's directions at some point ("turn left at the green house, you can't miss it"). And you can't. But here's what you don't know unless you've been inside. She's had a lot of love poured back into her recently. Fresh paint, newer flooring, and enough little touches to make her feel genuinely special instead of just memorable from the curb. The living room is the kind of large that actually became a problem for me. I have staging tricks. I have ways of making smaller rooms look bigger and bigger rooms look intentional. This room laughed at all of them. It is enormous, the kind of space where you stop thinking about furniture placement and start thinking about what kind of life you want to live in it. Movie nights with too many people. A piano you've always wanted. A reading corner that doesn't feel cramped into an afterthought. There's room for all of it and then some. Past that, you've got over 1,700 square feet, 3 bedrooms, and a bathroom so cheerful it matches the personality of the exterior. Apparently the vibrancy doesn't stop at the front door. Outside, there's a deep attached garage for anyone who actually wants to park a vehicle and still have room for tools, bikes, and the various other things garages accumulate. And then there's the back patio, covered, comfortable, and overlooking two thirds of an acre that feels like a lot more than two thirds of an acre. The privacy back there is the kind you usually have to drive out to actual acreage to get. Instead, it's right here in town. All of that, the size, the privacy, the space that made my staging brain sweat a little, for $185,000. In Sanford. That's a number that's getting harder to find attached to this much room and this much yard. So yes, she's mint green. She's always been mint green. But now she's mint green with fresh paint, new floors, a backyard that feels like its own oasis, and a price tag that makes a lot of sense once you've stood in that living room. Some houses you forget. This one, you were never going to.
